Anders Filipsen Solo

SloGlo X TURIST

DA (English below):
Anders Filipsen – keyboards
Ditte Bolt – visuals

“Anders Filipsen is probably better described as a sound-artist rather than as a musician…Great musicians tend to follow one idea for long periods, examining its every implication, and there is a strong sense, reinforced here, that Filipsen has been pursuing a single sound through space and time, right from his emergence as a leading improviser on the Danish scene.”

Let at forsvinde i. Let at blive udfordret af. Let at blive forført af. “(Ivan Rod om Stilleben, 2020).

SloGlo X TURIST

Matt Carroll – drums
“A strange, curious, but warmly and movingly executed album…The album is indicative of some fundamental tenets of great experimental albums: it’s unusual, lovable, and offers something new with each listen.” – Chris Ingalls, Pop Matters
“A bubbling overflow of new takes on jazz and electronica.”

Albummet hed “… my favorite release of 2020…” af Parttimeaudiophile.com (US) og vandt prisen som Årets Vinyl Udgivelse på The Vinyl Anachronist/Perfect Sound Forever (US).

EN:

Anders Filipsen – keyboards

For this evening Anders Filipsen presents the work ‘Order and Chaos’ created for the Concert Church. The work takes its point of departure from Concert Churchs local environment – that is, Nørrebro and the coexistence between calm and chaos as well as nature and culture. The work is a composed solo work for the synthesizer and environmental sound with inmate processes of free improvisation. The work places the listener in the middle of it all – surrounded by the sound. This also gives the listener the opportunity to move around to the different speakers and become active recipients of the chaos themselves and get the opportunity to create order through a changed perception.
Over the past few years, Anders Filipsen has focused on silence and presence, as well as an interest in the cultures place in relation to nature. In the aural processing of these subjects, he has used both acoustic, synthetic and electronic sources as well as environmental sound, and this work is a natural continuation of the same. He has released over 10 albums with his own groups.
“…mesmerising pieces of music …Overall ‘Waiting Music’ is a fascinating album that makes the listener re-think their relationship, not just with the act of waiting but the space we wait in. ‘Waiting Music’ is filled with delicious melodies that hang about the room like the smoke from blown-out candles…” (Vital Weekly om Waiting Music, 2021).

SloGlo X TURIST

Matt Carroll – drums
Rasmus Kjær Larsen – keyboards
SloGlo X TURIST is a new collaboration between electronic producer/drummer SloGlo and composer/keyboardist TURIST. The duo’s debut record Bounty will come out February 24th via Flood Music.
The group creates long form improvised pieces, blending minimal acoustic sounds with samples and electronic synthesis. With their new record the group finds comfort and serenity in stillness and repetition, allowing subtle nuances to form and guide their compositions. It should be a lovely evening in the church space as we welcome this new constellation.
Matt Carroll aka SloGlo is a Chicago-bred drummer/producer based inCopenhagen, Denmark. His debut record Symbols And Mirrors presentsa contrasting mosaic of groove oriented electroacoustic habitats that reflect the dynamic soundscapes of electronica and jazz. The album explores the threshold between the conscious and sub conscious mind whileexperiencing love, beauty, and grief. The result, an album unbound by genre and intertwined with darkcomplexity, salient melodies, and propulsive rhythmic fervor. For Carroll, it’sa deeply personal nod to the past and a patient gaze towards the future.
