Dansk/ungarske Kamilla Kovacs er efterhånden svær at komme uden om på den københavnske jazz/folk-scene. Hun har slået sine folder i projekter som den DMA- vindende vokalgruppe IKI og og duoen Kovacs & Dyberg.
For tiden arbejder den 28-årige sangerinde på sin solodebut. Musikken skrev hun en kold vinter i Berlin. Pladen tager lytteren med på en smuk rejse om kærlighed og alle dens afskygninger – en suite af 15 sange bundet sammen af mellemspil og instrumentale passager.
Kovacs trækker på både store sangskriverforbilleder som Joni Mitchell og Leonard Cohen, på klassisk musik, skramlet blues/jazz a la Tom Waits og på en eksperimenterende vokaltradition. Disse spændende inspirationer blandes med en udforskning af hendes egne ungarske rødder og en stor interesse for mellemøstlige traditioner og skalaer.

Med sig på scenen har hun den anerkendte cimbalomspiller George Mihalache (Peter Bastian, Lelo Nika) og den virtuose Jakob Roland (Nikolaj Hess, John Ruocco).

Danish/Hungarian Kamilla Kovacs is a central artist on the jazz/folk-scene of Copenhagen.She participates in various projects such as the Danish Music award-winning vocal group IKI and the duo Kovacs & Dyberg.Right now the 28-year-old singer is working on her solo debut. She wrote the music a cold winter in Berlin. The album takes the listener on a beautiful journey about love and all its facets – a suite of 15 songs bound together by interludes and instrumental passages.Kovacs is inspired by iconic songwriters such as Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen, classical music, scratchy blues/jazz à la Tom Waits, the experimental vocal tradition seen by the Japanese Koichi Makigami and others. These multiple inspirations are mixed with an investigation of her own Hungarian roots and a big interest in the middle eastern traditions and scales.One of Denmark’s most intriguing singers right now!With her on stage she has the well-known cimbalom player George Mihalache (Peter Bastian, Lelo Nika) and the virtuoso Jakob Roland (Nikolaj Hess, John Ruocco)
