Handel’s Messiah, as you might never heard it before!

What kind of surprise could 12 soloist singers and 15 baroque instrumentalists possibly bring to one of Copenhagen’s most beloved and irreplaceable Christmas symbols –Handel’s Messiah?  Come to KoncertKirken on the 12 December 19:30 and find out!

First of all, we tear down some of the traditional 19th century routines: after several years of an acclaimed cooperation with some of the finest Danish conductors and choirs, this year we are on our own! Following the Baroque practice of playing without conductor, each instrumentalist and singer will take an active part in shaping the music in the moment. Just like in a good jazz band, or just like Handel would have done himself!

No no, don’t worry; there will be no chaos! We have done this before. Our ‘dancing tandem,’ concertmaster Peter Spissky and harpsichordist Marcus Mohlin, will lead the way for the 27 individualists connected in a spontaneous musical communication by a strong story in the music, gestures, dance movements, smiles and tears…
