Mavi Express // Anima & Ennui // Own Road

Three CPH based independent record labels (Noisy Beehive, Dendron Records & Soulpod Collective) and KoncertKirken presents a great evening with three local bands.

MAVI EXPRESS

Poetic folk and abrasive chaos collide in the strange world of Mavi Expres – a Copenhagen-based band bringing together musicians from different backgrounds. With instruments such as bouzouki, violin, guitars, percussion and electronics the group explores a rather unique mix of indie-folk, post-rock and sonic experiments.

ANIMA & ENNUI

Anima & Ennui is a new alt-folk band formed in Copenhagen, Denmark. Though rooted in folk, the band’s range of influence span from classical to electronic and a keen listener can spot the marks of Steve Reich, Sam Shepherd and many more on top of the Drake, Young, and Vernon. Their debut album ‘An & En’ to be released in 2020 was recorded in an old crematorium in Copenhagen.

OWN ROAD

Own Road is Simon Skjødt Jensen’s one-man band. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark Simon’s music exists in a twilight space between American folk music, singer-songwriter and psychedelic.

With a beautiful voice, guitars, percussion and more exotic instruments Simon’s compositions move effortlessly between anxiety, melodic beauty and otherworldly abandon.
