Flinch

Det fremstår med hoved fra en hund og kløerne fra en løve, og nogle gange også med et menneskeligt ansigt. Som en genfortalt-historie, der går fra mund til mund, fra øje til øje og fra krop til krop og gengiver tyranniets fortællinger. Kropsliggjort til et par positurer, gentager de sig selv og fremstår som en påfugl, opmærksom på sine gemte farver.

FLINCH er inspireret af det visuelle produkt af en begivenhed, fotos der beskriver fænomenet i statiske øjeblikke efter en kaotisk forekomst. “Begivenhed” henviser her til en ødelæggende naturkatastrofe, den seneste celebrity-skandale, menneskers triumf eller en brutal politisk forandring, en intens oplevelse af et kunstværk eller et intimt beslutning. FLINCH (06 04 17) er Roza Moshtaghis eksamensarbejde fra sit MA.-studie i koreografi på Oslo National Academy of the Arts, præsteret 4. april 2017.

Publikationen af billederne er en udvidelse af forestillingen FLINCH.

Billederne udvindes fra fotoserien af Golara Jahanian og er udvalgt i samarbejde med fotografen. Den rastløse følelse i hendes arbejde; de døde øjeblikke efter en eksplosion, en ulykke eller det pludselige grin, har været grobund for samarbejdet i denne publikation.

Roza Moshtaghi (Teheran / Iran) bor og arbejder i Oslo. Hun arbejder indenfor scenekunstfeltet som koreograf og performer. Hun arbejder med emner som bygninger, gader, natur, begivenheder, organer og genstande og hvordan disse tilpasser sig til strukturer.

Hun præsenterer sine værker internationalt og fortsætter med at udvikle projekter med andre kunstnere, både som samarbejdspartner og som performer. Hendes seneste projekter er ONLY FOREVER(2018), FLINCH(2017), THE SMELL OF ITS SHIRT (2016), WATER GRAFFITI (2016).

It appears with the head of a dog and the claws of a lion, and sometimes also with a human face. Like a looping story that passes from mouth to mouth, from eye to eye, and from body to body, it reproduces narratives of tyranny. Embodied in a few postures repeating themselves and appearing like a peacock, aware of the hidden colours.

FLINCH is inspired by the visual outcomes of an event; photos describing the phenomenon of static moments after a chaotic occurrence. “Event”, here, refers to a devastating natural disaster, the latest celebrity scandal, the triumph of people or a brutal political change, an intense experience of a work of art or an intimate decision. FLINCH(06 04 17) is Roza Moshtaghi´s exam work from her MA study choreography at Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Premiered April 4th, 2017.

The publication of the pictures is an extension of the performance FLINCH.

The images are extracted from photo series by Golara Jahanian between 2015-2017 and selected in collaboration with the photographer. The restless feeling in her work; the dead moments after an explosion, an accident or a sudden laugh, has led to the desire to bring them together in this publication.

Roza Moshtaghi (Tehran/Iran) lives and works in Oslo. Her works are situated within the performing arts field as a choreographer and performer. Questions of how she, buildings, streets, nature, events, bodies, and objects in general react or adapt to structures have been crucial to most of her work. Roza holds an MA in choreography from Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She presents her works internationally and continues to develop projects with other artists, both as a collaborator and as a performer. Her most recent projects are ONLY FOREVER(2018), FLINCH(2017), THE SMELL OF ITS SHIRT (2016), WATER GRAFFITI (2016).
