Jennifer Beattie, voice and poetry
Juraj Kojš, technologies and performance
The dynamic duo Electric Queens explore an ancient Black Queen myth.
Haunting voices, poetry and everyday objects conjure up an experimental music and action performance. Laptops get even scratched, scraped and massaged. Provocative, poignant and even kinky, Beattie’s medieval vocals and avant-garde extravaganza are remixed by Kojš’s sliding on the edge of the tech & sonic razor theater.
Mezzo-soprano Jennifer Beattie, called a “smashing success” (San Francisco Examiner) and praised for her “warmth” (New York Times) and “exuberant voice and personality” (Opera News), revels in performing everything from traditional to brand-new classical repertoire, as well as engaging in ongoing collaborations with performance, visual, jazz, folk, and theater artists.
