Guqin – the Chinese seven-stringed zither – is one of China’s oldest and most ethereal instruments, with a history spanning over 3,000 years. Its sound is deep, meditative, and closely tied to Chinese philosophy, poetry, and reverence for nature. In 2003, the guqin was recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity — a symbol of China’s rich cultural legacy.

𝓐𝓫𝓸𝓾𝓽 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓐𝓻𝓽𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓼
• 𝐋𝐢 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐠 (based in Germany) is an internationally acclaimed guqin artist who performed for French President Emmanuel Macron in 2023 and plays a key role in promoting guqin across Europe.
• 𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (based in France) is a recipient of the prestigious Diapason d’Or and is dedicated to bringing the poetry and depth of guqin to a global audience.
• 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐚𝐚𝐬 is Professor at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, founder of the Liszt International Youth Piano Competition, and a frequent juror at major international piano competitions. A seasoned concert pianist, he combines a distinguished performance career with decades of high-level teaching.
