Orchestre Chabab Al Andalous, which means Andalusian Youth Orchestra, is an ensemble of morrocan traditional music and sacred music with a deep root in the old spanish peninsula known as Andalusia until the late 15th century. When numerous families flew from Granada at its downfall in 1492 to retreat to the Kingdom of Morocco’s safe heaven, they brought with them the Art of the Tarab Al-Ala repertoire and begun to secure the survival of that cultural expression born from the fusion of Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities of the time, now together again in a country of tolerance and openness. That same duty has been held by the members of the Orchestre Chabab Al Andalous, proud protectors of that secular music whom have take no rest in their work to preserve and keep blossoming within the traditional frame of that repertoire.
Chabab Al Andalous has performed in festivals all over Europe, Japan, USA, Thailand, China, Mexico, India a.o.
