Corey Smith (they/them) is a Chicago-based composer and performer working across experimental music and live performance. Their work draws on American folk traditions, pop song forms, and performance-based practices, often blurring the line between concert, lecture, and theatrical action. Recent projects explore resonance as both a sonic phenomenon and a compositional strategy, using performance as a site for queer metaphor, close listening, and material transformation. Smith has presented work across the US and Europe and is currently developing new performance work following a residency at Saari Residence in Finland. They teach at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. More information is available at coreyds.com.
Centered on the traditional tune, “Riddle Song,” this set for hammered dulcimer and electronics uses the folk song as a structural anchor for an extended exploration of resonance, repetition, and sustain. The result is an intimate, slowly unfolding performance that moves between folk tradition, drone, and experimental song form.

Malina Midera (PL) is a pianist, composer, improviser, and sound artist based in Copenhagen.
Malina’s work often explores interdisciplinary connections- combining music with photography, composing for film, and creating soundscapes for visual art exhibitions. Her musical language blends classical training with jazz improvisation and electronic textures.
She has curated several art festivals, including LAAF – Łódź Abstract Art Festival 2024 (PL), Slot Art Festival 2022 and 2023 (PL), and Idealistic Festival vol. 7 (DK).
As a performer and recording artist, Malina has released albums with various international ensembles such as Children of Fish, midi 4, Klawo, Malina Midera & Jēkabs Rēders or Marek Pospieszalski EPTA. She has toured and performed in various European countries.
Malina will present several organ pieces composed last year, which will appear on her upcoming solo release. The program blends composed material with improvisation, creating a dialogue between structure and flow. In her organ works, Malina explores a minimalist approach to improvisation, focusing on subtle textures, repetition, and the playful sonic possibilities of the church organ.
