Corina Marti (ch) – clavisimbalum
Capturing the Clavisimbalum
Music from 13th and 14th century France and Spain -Codex Faenza till the famous Buxheimer Orgelbuch of the late 15th century.
It’s not completely clear if Hermann Poll (1370 – 1401) really invented the Clavisimbalum , but it’s time to chase the history of this instrument, the ancestor of the harpsichord.
Following treatises, paintings and music, this program includes pieces from the late 13th century Spain and France, the famous codices as Faenza and the Buxheimer Orgelbuch. Eastern European sources and a touch of English music too.
Music by Philippe de Vitry, Don Paolo da Firenze, Gilles Binchois, Mikolaj Radomsky, Francesco Landini, and many others.
