The music of this ensemble is a delicate balance between lyrical compositions and improvisation, where echoes from melodic baroque ballads meet a contemporary attempt to find a moment of peace in music.
Roberto Bordiga is an Italian bassist recently moved to Copenhagen, as a session player he performed and recorded with many renowned musicians in Italy and abroad. He won jazz contests and jazz prizes supported by some of the most finest jazz foundations in Italy, like Siena Jazz and Moncalieri Jazz. His danish debut as a band leader will be enhanced by the collaboration with some of the most highly acclaimed artists of the Copenhagen music scene.
Lars Greve released his debut solo album “Breidablik” in 2014, which was award as album of the year in leading magazines world wide. Artist in residencies in Denmark, Brazil, Greenland and Germany. Member of the award-winning group Girls in Airports, which has released four albums and toured in Brazil, USA, China, Hong Kong and all over Europe. Sideman on more than 50 records in various constellations and named as “one of the most influential jazz musicians” for these works by the blog jazznyt.dk.
Simon Toldam is one of Scandinavia´s most exiting and acclaimed musicians from the current generation. He was the winner of a Danish Music Award in 2006 with Scandinavian orchestra ”Sekten”, and in 2007 won 2 awards for his orchestra ”Simon Toldam & Prügelknabe”, and as a ”Rising Star” of the danish music scene. He was named ”official composer” of the Copenhagen Jazz festival 2007, writing a piece called ”Uniform” for four bassclarinets, drums and piano.
Peter Bruun has played the drums since he went to a children music school at the age of 3. He started at the Rythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen at the age of 18 and has been playing professionally since. In recent years Peter has played and recorded with: Django Bates trio “Belovèd” (DK/US/SE), Marc Ducret Quartet, “WBZ”, “Mold” (DK/DE), Simon Toldam “Stork” (DK/SE), Evan Parker, Chris Speed, Herb Robertson, Andrea Parkins, Jesper Zeuthen, Lotte Anker, Tim Berne.
Ida Nørholm: Is an international acclaimed cellist. With the trio Ismena she won the First Prizes in both the Danish Radio P2 Chamber Music Competition in 2009 and in Trondheim International Piano Trio Competition in 2007. Since then, she have performed numerous concerts in Denmark and abroad, playing in the USA, China, Germany, Spain, Holland, England, France, Italy, Latvia and in the Nordic countries.
