Urban Folk is Maciej Kądziela’s newest project – a large folk jazz ensemble which contains from five till ten people.
The idea of Urban Folk is to connect two music worlds which are very far from each other. The band brings together urban folk musicians (the free jazz improvisers of Copenhagen) and the original folk band called “Tramblanka” coming from the city of Opoczno in Poland. This band represent pure folk music which is very improvised, however based on very simple harmonic structures. The two music worlds meets and battles on stage and improvises freely.
