EUROPEAN DAY OF EARLY MUSIC COPENHAGEN 2017
Born in the small historic town of Feltre (Veneto) in 1989, Deniel Perer began his musical studies in young age. In 2012 he graduated in organ with the highest honours and a special prize at the Conservatory of Music “A. Steffani” of Castelfranco Veneto. He was also studying organ at the “Accademia Internazionale della Musica” in Milano before going to Switzerland at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where in 2014 he got his Master certificate summa cum laude in Organ and in 2016 a Second Master in Harpsichord. He was awarded several prizes in organ and harpsichord competitions, like the 1st prize at the 8th Concorso Internazionale di Musica Barocca e Studi Musicologici “Principe Francesco Maria Ruspoli” 2016 of Vignanello (Italy) and the 3rd prize (first not given) at the 17th organ competition “Paul Hofheimer” 2013 of Innsbruck. In 2015 he received a prize and the title of “Best graduated organist of the year” by the Hans-Balmer Stiftung of Basle (CH). He regularly gives concerts as a soloist and as a continuo player in many concert seasons, in Italy and abroad. He is conductor of the instrumental and vocal baroque ensemble “L’Artifizio Armonico” and member of “AbChordis Ensemble” and made cd recordings for Diastema, Christophorus and Sony DHM. He is also founder of the organ festival “Wondrous Machines” and the “Accademia di Musica Antica” of Feltre and contributed for several publications on the art of organ building. In his atelier in Feltre, Deniel deals also with the maintenance, construction and restoration of organs and other keyboard instruments.

Musikken spiller en egendommelige rolle i denne tid, for selvom man skulle tro at den katolske musik blev bandlyst med resten af kotolisismen, var det ikke altid tilfældet og særligt Luther selv fandt værdi i de gamle musiktraditioner.
Reformationen tenger altså ikke et ensidigt billede af den musikalske udvikling op gennem 1500-tallet, og mens reformationens forskellige kirkedannelser var ved at udvilke deres forskellige religiøse identiteter, sprudlede den katolske musik som aldrig før.
